Family Trauma Assessment
Children depend on their families for support and reassurance. This is especially true following a traumatic event when a child’s belief in the safety and predictability of the world has been undermined. But trauma does not affect the child alone. The effects of any traumatic event reverberate throughout the family system. A child’s greatest need for love and support may come at a time when the trauma itself has compromised a family’s ability to provide it.
