Judicial Leadership to Address Adolescent Mental Health Needs
Large numbers of youth involved with the juvenile justice system have significant mental health and
substance abuse issues. Many of these youth could be better served in community settings, and juvenile
court judges can lead or support community efforts to develop improved policies and service delivery
strategies for these youth.
